The information system for the public interface was acquired through EU-wide competitive tender invitation in the autumn of 2009. Pilotin Agreement with the chosen Ex Libris Group was made in summer 2010 and piloting began in autumn. (>>Read more about the agreement with Ex Libris Group)
The piloting phase includes testing of construction of Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) with various library, museum and archive systems, harvesting of metadata from background systems and testing of metasearch.
There has been delays in the piloting project, the aim is to launch the service in late 2012.
New organisations will be integrated into the public interface in 2013. Over hundred organisations – libraries, archives, museums etc. announced their interest to join in to this “second wave” of public interface integration.
